Bandaru V. Ramarao is a professor of chemical engineering and currently is the chair of the department of chemical engineering at SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse, New York. Dr. Ramarao served as an editor of Separation and Purification Technology and is a co-author of the book ‘Granular Filtration of Aerosols and Hydrosols’ with Professor Chi Tien of Syracuse University. Prof. Ramarao is a Fellow of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and also a winner of the Andrew Chase award of the AIChE’s Forest and Plant Bioproducts Division.

He received his Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Clarkson University and continued post-doctoral work with Prof. Chi Tien. He co-authored several publications in the areas of filtration of aerosols, hydrosols, and separation processes. His research interests are in fibrous media and transport phenomena.
